Having any type of body-focused repetitive behaviour can force you to become somewhat of a “beauty-guru” whether you like it or not. Many of us spend more time than we’d like in our local drug-stores or beauty store trying to deal with the aftermath of having a BFRB. Whether you are a skin-picker, hair-puller or nail-biter, we all go through various trials and tribulations when it comes to disguising, preventing or healing our specific behaviour.

Hair-Pullers can go to great lengths and expenses in order to cover bald spots or patches of hair missing on their body. False lashes, microblading or drawing on eyebrows, hair thickening products, and last but not least purchasing wigs and toppers yearly.

Skin-Pickers can spend a fortune on makeup, skin-care products and treatments, bandages and prescriptions to help them deal with the aftermath of their picking.

Nail-Biters can spend an arm and a leg keeping up with their weekly appointment at nail salons.

So not only do we have to deal with the mental implications of living with a BFRB, we have to spend money too.

Are you financially frustrated trying to keep up with your BFRB? If you have some tips on saving money when it comes to dealing with your BFRB, leave us a comment below and we will share them with the community.
